Avalanche Volleyball Academy

AVALANCHE VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY

About the Program

The Avalanche Academy is designed to provide local athletes with additional technical skill development during the school season: a time when frequent games can limit opportunities to focus on individual skills and technique.

Our coaching staff is highly knowledgeable and committed to athlete development. Current College of the Rockies Avalanche women’s and men’s volleyball athletes will also be present as assistant coaches at many sessions. This creates a unique training environment with a high coach-to-athlete ratio, allowing for more personalized feedback, guidance, and meaningful skill development.

Our goal is to give athletes the tools, attention, and confidence they need to take their game to the next level.

Our Coaches:

Bryan Fraser

Graeme Lehman

Alex Avery

Taylor Whittall

Nolin Hoodicoff

Girl’s Streams 1, 2 & 3:

This year we will be accepting a total of 54 participants, first come - first serve. You will be asked to register for one of two evaluation times (Aug 26 or 27), after which you will be placed into streams 1, 2, or 3. The streams are used to ensure the athletes are training with similarly skilled peers.

*If you can’t make either evaluation then we will use our best judgement and place you into a stream. If after 1 or 2 sessions it’s clear that an athlete was placed in the wrong stream, we will move them based only from our coaches recommendations.

Boy’s Stream 1:

We will be running our 2nd year of the boy’s stream this fall. Accepting a total of 18 participants, first come - first serve. There will NOT be an evaluation for the boy’s stream.
