The College of the Rockies Avalanche Men's Volleyball program is excited to announce the signing of Jeffrey Brown, a 6'4" middle blocker from Vernon, British Columbia, for the 2026/27 PACWEST season.
Brown joins the Avalanche from Vernon Secondary School and SKY Volleyball Club, where he has developed a reputation as a physical, intelligent, and driven player at the net. The Team BC standout was part of Team BC Red in 2025, earning the Maple Award for his leadership and performance.
Throughout his volleyball career, Brown has collected numerous individual and team accomplishments. At Vernon Secondary, he was recognized for both his leadership and MVP performance on the court. As a member of Team BC, Brown helped his squad capture gold at the 2025 U17 Canada Cup. With SKY Volleyball Club, he earned a third-place finish at the BC Provincials (Tier 2) and helped lead his team to a first-place finish at Nationals (Tier 9).
Brown, who plans to study Criminology at the College of the Rockies, said his decision to join the Avalanche came down to the connection he felt with the program. "I chose the College of the Rockies because I had a good connection with Coach Farrero and when I met the team, I could tell right away that the team culture is positive and competitive," said Brown. "Being part of the Avs is an exciting opportunity to keep growing as a middle blocker and push myself to the next level."
Head Coach Cisco Farrero believes Brown will make an immediate impact in the Avalanche lineup. "Jeff is a huge get for us at the middle blocker position in this recruiting class," said Farrero. "He brings a dynamic arm, a physical game and has a high volleyball IQ. Some recruits I consider 'ready to go,' and I think Jeff's offensive style will make an instant impact in our gym. We needed to get a significant impact player at the middle blocker in this class and Jeff fits that bill for us. His goals academically line up nicely with our Criminal Justice program at the college and I think he will be a mainstay in the Avalanche program for years to come."
Brown becomes the second addition to the Avalanche's 2026/27 recruiting class, joining setter Kio Kemp as the program continues to build toward another competitive season in the PACWEST conference.
