The College of the Rockies Avalanche Women's Volleyball Program is thrilled to announce the signing of Olivia (Liv) McClenaghan, a 5'9" setter from Kelowna, British Columbia, who will join the team for the 2026–2027 season. McClenaghan first connected with the Avalanche during a High Performance camp at COTR, where she immediately felt at home on campus and within the program. "I am excited and so thankful that I will be joining the Avalanche women's volleyball team!" said McClenaghan. "While at the High Performance camp, I knew right away the location, campus size and the culture at COTR was going to be a great fit for me. I am so grateful for my coaches that have helped me gain, and continue, my love of the game. Coach Bryan has already been a positive influence on my volleyball career and I am looking forward to learning more from him over the coming seasons! Go Avs!"
McClenaghan began playing volleyball at the age of 13 and has quickly risen within the sport, competing for two seasons on her 4A high school team at Kelowna Secondary School and spending two additional seasons playing up an age group at the club level. She brings a strong combination of leadership, maturity, and technical skill to the setter position—qualities that the Avalanche staff believe will translate smoothly to the PACWEST level.
Head Coach Bryan Fraser spoke highly of the program's newest addition: "Liv is going to be an important part of our program. She truly embodies everything we look for in a recruit," said Fraser. "Her athleticism and court awareness are already at a post-secondary level. She's passionate about the sport and has a strong drive to get better every day. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to coach her next season."
Academically, McClenaghan will pursue an Associate of Science Degree, with long-term plans to complete a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. Outside the classroom, she is eager to explore the mountains, forests, and lakes surrounding Cranbrook as she settles into the community.
McClenaghan becomes another key addition to the Avalanche's exciting 2026/27 recruiting class.
