The College of the Rockies Avalanche Women's Volleyball Program is excited to announce the signing of Claire Lansing, a talented middle from Camrose, Alberta, who will join the team for the 2026–2027 season. Lansing has been a key member of the École Camrose Composite High School senior girls' volleyball team for the past three years, serving as captain in her Grade 12 season. During her time with the Comp, the program has remained a strong 3A contender, highlighted by a zone championship and a trip to provincials in her Grade 10 year.
Lansing has also been a standout with Precision Volleyball Club for the past five seasons, earning multiple notable achievements—including a provincial gold medal and top-30 finishes at Nationals. Her passion for the game extends beyond competition; she also contributes to her school community by coaching Grade 9 girls' volleyball, helping young athletes grow their skills and confidence.
Lansing expressed her excitement about joining the Avalanche, noting how quickly she connected with the program. "I'm really excited to join the Avalanche women's volleyball team next season," said Lansing. "After meeting Coach Bryan and attending the high-performance camp, I knew the program was the right fit for me. The team made me feel welcome right away, and I loved the strong volleyball culture and positive learning environment. I'm very excited to continue to improve under Coach Bryan and be a part of this team!"
Head Coach Bryan Fraser is equally enthusiastic about the addition of Lansing to next year's roster. "Claire is an outstanding addition to our 2026–27 roster," said Fraser. "She can attack a fast ball exceptionally well and is a terrific blocker. Her work ethic is unmatched, and with her strong volleyball IQ, I'm confident she'll develop into a highly effective middle in the PACWEST. Academically, she's another driven student with big goals, and we're excited to welcome her into our program."
Lansing continues to build strong momentum within the growing Avalanche 2026/27 recruiting class, bringing size, athleticism, and leadership to the front row.
